Big Hugs Card

Sending big hugs to all of you! I made this card using Studio G stamps I got at Walmart for 99 cents. I was surprised that they stamped so well for that price. The green and pink sqaures are made from Walmarts Colorblok cardstock. I used the sanding technique in this video I made. it was my first video so its not the best.

I used the Spellbinders squares to cut out the shapes of the pink and green. I edges the border with white gel pen and used white pigment ink and a stamp to do swirls.

Fiskers compact stamp press: A must have!

If you do not own a Fiskers Compact Stamp Press, I strongly suggest it. A friend of mine from work had suggested it to me and I love it! Thanks Christina!! It allows you to place multiple stamps on it for perfect placement.  It also is awesome for making duplicate cards or invitations faster. The foam feet hold the press above your paper so that you can place the stamps exactly where you want them. It works with clear stamps and foam backed rubber stamps. There are several videos on you tube that you can check out to see what it is like to use it. Hope this tip is helpful!

Another Mr Cricut Crazy Birthday Birthday Stamp Card

I am on vacation and had free today to make this card. I used the Mr Cricut Crazy Birthday Birthday stamp set to make the cupcake and the "Celebrate it's your birthday!" tag. The paper is from The Paper Studio's Birthday Extravaganza Paper Pack. I am trying to use up scrap paper that is taking up space in my drawers. I love using Tanners stamps! Please see the link below if you are interested in seeing his stamps. I sent in my submission for his design team last week and I am hopeful but there are so many talented crafters out there that I am not sure I even have a chance. I bet his team will have a hard time chosing. Keeping my fingers crossed though.

Thank you flower and butteryfly card

Not the best of picture because I am having trouble with the photo editor on my computer. This card start with a mistake I made on a cut with the last card I posted. I decided to just use it for this. I hope you like the card.

Thank You Butterfly Card

It has been a busy day with work and then crafting! Came home today and my mother and I have been in the craft room all evening. She is sewing a dress for my niece and I made this card. I used the Cricut Imagine More cartridge for the butterfly and the blue background.
I got a call today from my son telling me he has officially signed up with the NAVY. It's a mixture of sadness that he will be gone in January, worry that something might happen to him and happiness that he has finally decided his path in life. I don't know whether to be happy or cry. At least he will be home for one more Christmas before he ships out to Illinois. Please keep him in your prayers!
Have a great weekend!

Simple Joys Card

For this card I used the Cricut Imagine More cartridge to make the Simple Joys picture. I took a green card and used the dots embossing folder then I used the Tim Holtz distress ink to highlight the dots. I used an EK success flower punch to cut out the flower. The brown paper is a paper bag that I tore in a rough pattern. I then used the Tim Holtz distress ink to color the crumpled edges of the paper.

Question? What are some of your simple joys in life? Leave a comment below to share your simple joys. We would love to hear from you!

Need your opinions on Copics vs Promarkers?

Ok my friends, I want to invest in some good quality markers for stamp coloring and crafting. I have seen both Copics and Promarkers used on various sites but am not sure which to purchase. Please leave a comment about your preference and why you prefer to use this brand. Also if you know of any links to sites that you have found that might be helpful that would be awesome! I really would appreciate any input you have! Thanks all!

Mr Cricut Crazy Birthday Birthday Stamps Cupcake Basket

Here are the directions to make this basket. I used my Martha Stewart Score Board and scored the 12x12 paper at 4 inches and 8 inches on both side of the paper. This made 9 equally sized boxes.  Only cut one line on each side following the score line. See below on how to cut the box.
Once it has been cut fold the edges up until you get the shape below. Glue or tape it in place.
Now I used the Mr. Cricut Crazy Birthday Birthday cupcake stamp to make the layered cupcake. I embossed one color of paper with white embossing powder then repeated the same step on another color.
 .
I then cut out both pieces I had embossed only using the top of the cupcake for the upper layer. I used a gem to top it off.
I used the Martha Stewart Doily Lace trim border punch to decorate the edges and the handle. I also used the Blossom die by Spellbinders to do the green background.
Thanks for stopping by!

Long awaited return and update

Hi all! I am sorry for the long time away but I am finally back. I have had several major things in my life that kept me from blogging/crafting for awhile. Well first off I have been without my regular computer since it crashed. Thank God for my droid to keep me updated with your blogs. I also had been dealing with daily headaches/migranes since April from a severe fibromyalgia flare and just did not feel well enough to be inspired to craft. Well thanks to the good Lord and my Dr. I have a new medicine that has zapped my migranes and it is also taking the edge off the fibromyalgia pain. Second my mother has recently moved in with us and I have been busy catching up with her. She came all the way from Florida and its really nice to have my mother close to me.
I have missed doing my blog and I am ready for the creative challange again since things have gotten better health wise and my mother is now settled. Glad to be back and can't wait to share some new ideas I have for projects.
