My Other Hobby
I thought I would share my other hobby with you. Jewelry making. I make one of a kind jewelry with polymer clay. Polymer clay is also great for accent pieces in card making and other craft projects. Polymer clay is very easy to use and can be bought at any big name craft store. The clay can be formed in any shape you wish. There are all kinds of tools and cookie cutter shapes you can use to cut out shapes. You can also use stamps to add design and texture to the pieces. You can also use Pearl EX to add glittery accents to you clay before you bake it. It is usualy baked at 275 degrees in your oven or toaster oven. One warning, do not use tools or cooking pans that you use with food products. Here are a few examples of what I have done. This first picture is stuff that I have not baked yet and is incomplete.
Chinese Caligraphy pendents of Faith, Hope, Love, Joy and Peace.
If you look at the picture above you will see 3 pieces of jewelry that have pictures. This is a really cool technique of using laser print images on the clay.
The swirl is a signature design clasp that I put on most of my necklaces.

Thinking of You and being thankful
Before I get to the card I want to share with you what I was most thankful for this year. We traveled to see my husband's mother this Thanksgiving. During the summer we alomost lost her. She was very sick and we did not expect her to be around this Thanksgiving. Thanks be to God that when we went to see her she was healthier, stronger and spunkier than ever. I know alot of people have trouble with their in-laws but I truly love this woman. She has been a rock in my life and a blessing to my family. She also trained my husband very well. He cooks, cleans and does laundry thanks to her! Woo hoo! Thank you God for another Thanksgiving with her!
Well now for the card.
I used the Cricut Imagine to cut the tag with Thinking of you stamp. I used Purple pigment in on the edges of the paper to as depth to it. I then used Colorblok white core cardstock paper, a cuddlebug embossing folder and sanding technique to make the pink square. The pattern paper is from The Paper Studios Adhesive collection paper block.

Thank You Card
I made this card to send to a new craft friend. I hope she will like it when she receives it.
I cut the flower and the tag on the Cricut Imagine using the Plantin cartridge for the flower and the tag is one of the basic shapes built into the Imagine. I used Cotton Candy ink to color the flower and the tag. I used Colorblok white core cardstock to make the background. I put it through the Cuddlebug in the swirls folder then sanded the paper. I made a paper bow out of some old paper.
Hope you are doing good and inspired to craft! Have a great day!

Candle Card and Thrift Store Finds
Recipe:
Cuddlebug Swirls Embossing Card
Cuddlebug Birthdays Die Set with embossing card
The Paper Studios Birthday Extravaganza Paper
Creative Memories Flower Cutter
Orange Glitter
I had a blast Saturday thrift store shopping. I found a shelf to store the stamps I use the most. I plan on painting it black.
Not sure what I will store in this house yet but it matched the box below it I already had. I painted the box black green and yellow to match the toom. Not sure if I will paint the house like the other or leave it for now.
Thrift stores have been a great resource for storage for me. The Habitat Restore and Goodwill have had some awesome items that I have incorporated into my house and craft room storage.

My Creative Time Design Team Call
I am so excited to share the pop up card I just made for the MY CREATIVE TIME DESIGN TEAM CALL! I have not been able to buy any of her stamps yet but I really like them. The mixture of fonts she uses are very pretty and unique. Inside the card I used a recipe for what I call Shimmer Mist that I had found. The pop up pattern I used is from Robert Sabuda's free pop up card patterns and directions. I cut it out on Colorbok paper then distressed the edges of the flower and the card with Cranberry "Ink it up" ink.
The outside of the card was made with the Birthday Extravaganza and Adhesive Simplicity paper by The Paper Studios. The scalloped circle on the front was printed on my Cricut Imagine using the Imagine More cartridge. I distressed the edges with Tim Holtz "Vintage Photo" distress ink.
I hope you enjoyed the card! I don't know if I have a chance because of all the talented people out there but never hurts to give it a try.

National Boss Day
I made a card and matching rosette for Bosses Day. I used the Cricut Imagine, Imagine More Cartridge to make the flower for the front. I used my Martha Stewart Scoring board to score the rosette. I scored the paper every half inch then folded it. I cut out circle and put hot glu on them then glued the rosette to the circle. I did ths for both sides. I then attached the Grateful flower from the Imagine More Cartridge to the front of the rosette. I then glued a pencil into the center of the rosette to hold it up in the flowers we bought them. On the card I used the same flower then used my Wild Cards Cricut Cartridge for the saying. I used the Martha Stewart Flower Border cutter and the scallop border cutter for the trim of the card.
Go to "You had me at Craft" and join in they party. Post your projects.

Happy Halloween Pop up Card for My Pink Stamper Challange
Hi all! I decided to challange myself with a pop up card for the My Pink Stamper Blog Hop Challange. Challenge: Make a goodie bag or 3-D item that is for a Holiday. Any Holiday or Occasion will be perfect.
I love pop up cards. They are so fun to make so I thought I would start with some help from Robert Sabuda's website. This way I could get a better technical grasp of the process and create more interesting cards. Here we go! You can see the pop up better from top view.

Shimmer Mist Recipe
I have always wanted to buy some Glimmer Mist but found it to be too expensive for my taste. I don't buy too many craft things without a sale or coupon so I guess I am a clearance sale and thrift junkie. I searched the web and found several recipes for it on Splitcoaststamper.com. Thanks to all the people who shared their recipes. I already had everything I needed to make the recipe below. Yea! The recipe worked really well. The glue in the mixture bonds the PearlEX to the paper so it does not smear. The only thing I need is a better misting bottle. I had an old travel kit with a spray bottle in it. It sprays a little heavy so I will be getting new ones for more colors.
Here is the Recipe:
One part Decoupage Glue, Modge Podge or ElmersGlue
One part water
One small scoop of Pearl EX
Mix in a small misting bottle.
To make your colors bolder add a drop or two of stamp pad ink refiller or in one case I read someone used Rit Dye.
I don't think you will be able to see it very well from these pictures but here is how it did with the bottle I want to replace. I used Gold and Brown PearlEX for my mix. I sprayed it onto a light green paper.

I got a great deal at Goodwill two weeks ago. I found two huge bags of stamps for $5.99 a bag. There were about 30 or so stamps. AWESOME!! I decided to play with my new used stamps and color pencils to make this card. It's something I have not done much of. So here you go. I plan on making these for my family this Thanksgiving. Something simple i hope they will enjoy.
I am so thankful for my children. They are growing into wonderful adults. It is hard to believe my youngest child, my daughter is in college. My son is growing into a fine young man. Momma is proud. I just pray God watches over them and guides their way through life! What are you thankful for today?
